Abstract

Through adopting a postcolonial feminist perspective, the project studies a group of Syrian refugee women in Egypt who ended up marrying Egyptian nationals. It aims to critically engage with notions such subjectivity, agency and victimhood in ways that go beyond Eurocentric and Orientalist modes of representation.
